Kevin Brooks Basketball Club was created to teach juniors the fundamental skills of basketball. We pride ourselves on teaching kids practical life skills. Necessary skills like being on time, communicating with confidence, playing with energy & effort and showing resilience in the face of adversity. These skills will enable them to consistently perform the basic fundamentals needed in the game of life & basketball. We want them to walk away with better life & basketball skills that are used every day.
Kevin brings over 30 years of playing and coaching experience at the highest levels from NBA, NBL, Europe, NZBL, ABA and School basketball. The ACBA social competition is for any level of player from the absolute beginner to the experienced player who would like to get in an extra game and training session per week.
At Brooks Basketball our ‘No Kid Left Behind’ philosophy carries through many aspects of our business and during training and games we want to ensure that all kids are given a safe, positive and encouraging environment to have a go, make mistakes, try to improve their skills and finally to experience growth, no matter what level they are playing at.
We ensure the people on our team represent and understand our values and philosophies so the players are getting consistent coaching and guidance.
Games
Games are played on Saturdays and held at various recreation centres throughout the division suburbs.
Game times vary depending on age group; however, U8 & U10’s usually play in the morning and U12, U14, U16 and U18 in the afternoons.
Competition
We compete in the Adelaide Community Basketball Association (ACBA) league.
We have teams in the East and North-East.
The competition has structured divisions from Div 1 – Div 5 and we place players and teams in the division that is closest to their skill set. Coaches provide player reviews at the end of each season, and we run skill assessment sessions for new players.
