Gymnastics NSW (GNSW) is the State governing body for gymnastics. Established in 1948, Gymnastics NSW's mission is to promote, develop and grow gymnastics for the enjoyment of all. Encompassing eight gymsports being the Olympic disciplines of Women’s and Men’s Artistic, Rhythmic and Trampoline Gymnastics, as well as Aerobic Gymnastics, Acrobatic Gymnastics and Gymnastics for All, gymnastics provides opportunities for all Australians.
With the third-highest female membership base of organised sport within Australia, gymnastics continues to provide children of all ages the opportunity to learn to move and move well. From KinderGym programmes which teach children to master the Fundamental Movement Skills through to our high performance programmes and Olympic Medal goals, gymnastics stretches the entire sporting landscape.
Gymnastics NSW has more than 63,000 registered athlete members. The organisation has had year-on-year athlete membership growth for 15 years in a row, with 93 per cent of the athlete members under the age of 12 (42 per cent are under the age of five) and 75 per cent of the membership is female.
Gymnastics programmes are delivered in more than 210 clubs across NSW.
Participation programmes delivered by Gymnastics NSW are specifically designed to provide fun, fitness, friendship, and fundamental movement skills in a safe and positive environment, and are suited to Australians of all ages and abilities. Our High Performance programmes continue to develop our athletes, ensuring ongoing achievements and success within the international arena including World Championships and Olympic Games.
Gymnastics NSW is also committed, through the delivery of quality services and products, to provide a framework that encourages the training and continuous improvement of affiliated clubs and accredited coaches and judges.
