Calisthenics Dance
Calisthenics is a team-based competitive performing art sport taking elements from rhythmic gymnastics and ballet combined with theatricality, costume, dance and musical interpretation. Predominantly a female art form, there has been an increase in male participation over a number of years. The items performed are Figure March, Club Swinging, Free exercises, Rod Exercises, Aesthetics etc. Ranging from 7years to 26 years and older, teams are divided into divisions, based on their competitiveness and skill level.
