YMCA Calgary is thrilled to present the 17th Annual Indigenous Youth Hoops Basketball Tournament happening on June 8, 2024, at Shane Homes YMCA at Rocky Ridge. This event is always a highlight within the YMCA community, bringing together teams of 5 to compete in a fast-paced 3-on-3 format all day long.
We invite all basketball fans to come out and support the teams, while enjoying live entertainment such as special halftime performances, traditional dancers, a live DJ, and a land acknowledgment by the Calgary Police Service. There will also be a blessing from an Elder of the community to kick off the tournament.
With two divisions - Division 1 for ages 13-17 and Division 2 for ages 18-30 - participants can look forward to MVP awards, a 3-point shootout, and cultural performances. It's a day not to be missed, full of basketball action and celebration of Indigenous culture.
