1 Step Forward

1 Step Forward is a sports club located in Mona Vale, in the Northern Beaches of Sydney. The club offers a range of social and competitive ballroom dancing services, including Latin, Ballroom, New Vogue, and Salsa. They cater to all ages, from kids to teens, adults, and masters.

The club prides itself on providing a fun and friendly atmosphere for dancers of all levels. Beginners start on Bronze and progress through their bar levels to Gold as they improve. The club holds regular ballroom dancing exams, where students have the opportunity to showcase their skills and receive feedback and report cards from highly qualified examiners from the Australian Dancing Society (ADS).

One of the highlight events at 1 Step Forward is the Trophy/Medals Day, which takes place on Sunday, 18th June 2023, at the Mona Vale Memorial Hall. Students can participate in practical exams and receive a thorough report card, as well as a trophy. Family members are welcome to attend and watch the exam performances. It is important to purchase student exam fees in advance to meet trophy ordering requirements.

Another exciting event at the club is the Competition Day, which will be held on Sunday, 6th August 2023, at the Petersham Town Hall. Students have the chance to compete in various dancing events and can stay for the whole time frame to receive their awards if they make any finals throughout the day. Spectators are also welcome to attend and can purchase tickets online or at the door.

The Performance & Presentation Party (PPP) is another highly anticipated event at 1 Step Forward. It is a showcase night where all students will demonstrate what they have learned over the term. Presentation awards will be given to students, and the night concludes with pizzas for all the participants. Tickets are required for students to confirm their attendance and secure their performance position, and spectators can also purchase tickets to attend.
