The 1stXI team will have an exciting opportunity to play in both the EY2 league and the Premier League in Ulster. Talk about a chance to truly showcase their skills! The season kicks off in August and runs all the way through to late April or early May. That's plenty of time for some intense and thrilling hockey action.

Training sessions will be held on Wednesday evenings at the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre in Ballymoney. It's a fantastic facility that provides the perfect environment for players to hone their skills and improve their game. And if you're worried about travel expenses, fear not! The club has got you covered.

To be the perfect fit for this role, the chosen candidate should have senior-level coaching experience under their belt. They should also hold a minimum of the Ulster Hockey/Hockey Ireland Level 1 Coaching Qualification or an equivalent certification. It goes without saying that excellent management, interpersonal, and communication skills are a must. We're looking for someone who can lead with confidence and inspire their players to reach new heights.

In terms of responsibilities, the 1stXI Head Coach will be responsible for creating and implementing a well-structured and progressive coaching program. This program should cater specifically to the needs of the Ballymoney Hockey Club's 1stXI squad. Additionally, they will need to abide by the club's values and Code of Conduct, provide guidance and coaching during match day fixtures, and oversee the selection process for league matches. Teamwork is key, so working collaboratively with the senior coaching team and key club personnel is essential.

But it doesn't stop there! The chosen candidate will also play a vital role in supporting the integration of junior players into the senior training and playing environment. They will provide regular constructive feedback to help retain and bring back senior players. And let's not forget about the media. The 1stXI Head Coach will be responsible for handling communication with the press regarding the team.
