ACT Kendo Renmei

ACT Kendo Renmei is a sports club based in Canberra, Australia. It is currently the only kendo club practising the Japanese martial art of Kendo in the city. Operated under ANU Sport at The Australian National University, ACT Kendo Renmei is affiliated with the ACT Kendo Renmei, the Australian Kendo Renmei, and the International Kendo Federation.

Kendo, which literally means 'The Way of the Sword' in Japanese, is one of Japan's oldest and most traditional martial arts. Its origins can be traced back to the Samurai warriors of ancient Japan. Despite its transformation into a popular sport form, Kendo still embodies the core principles of the katana, the traditional Japanese sword.

ACT Kendo Renmei welcomes both men and women of all ages to practise and compete together.
