Across The Waves Cricket Club

Welcoming you to The Waves Cricket Club, the largest cricket club in the Wide Bay Region. The club is an active participant in the Bundaberg Cricket Association (BCA) and fields both junior and senior teams in various age groups and divisions.

For junior players, the club offers a range of cricket formats in line with Cricket Australia's junior cricket pathways. Under 10 Master Blasters play a modified game on Thursday nights under lights at Salter Oval. Junior Cricket Stage 1 and 2, for ages approximately 10-12, participate in a modified shortened game on Saturday mornings at Kendalls Flats. Stage 3, comprising Under 14 and 16 teams, also play at Kendalls Flats on Saturday mornings.

These junior fixtures include teams from Maryborough and Hervey Bay and are played as home and away competitions.

Senior cricket fixtures take place on Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings, featuring T20, 40 over, 50 over, and two-day formats. The specific format played depends on the schedule set by the Bundaberg Cricket Association. The Waves Cricket Club fields teams in Division 1, 2, and 3 competitions, with Division 1 incorporating teams from Maryborough and Hervey Bay and competing in a home and away competition.

All training sessions for junior and senior teams are held at The Waves Sports Complex on Thabeban Street in Bundaberg. Dates and times for training sessions are confirmed prior to the start of the cricket season. Registration and sign-on take place in August, with the season commencing in September and concluding in March. There is a short break over the Christmas and School Holiday period.

Registration fees vary for each age group and division and are set prior to sign-on each season. The club provides all training facilities and equipment, while players are responsible for providing their own playing equipment for game day.
