Across the Waves Softball Club, formerly known as Rebels Softball Club, is a well-established sporting club based in Bundaberg, Queensland. The club has been operating since January 1996 and has grown to become one of the most prominent softball clubs in the Wide Bay area.
One of the club's significant achievements was its affiliation with the Hervey Bay Softball Association in 2017. This affiliation allows the Waves Softball Club to participate in a home and away format, competing against teams from Hervey Bay, Maryborough, and Bundaberg. The Hervey Bay competition currently consists of 32 teams.
The Waves Softball Club caters to both juniors (aged 5 and above) and seniors. Each season, the club aims to field at least one team in every division, including T Ball, U12, U14, and U16 for both boys and girls. The club also has Senior Men's (A and B) and Ladies (A and B) teams. Training for junior and senior players begins in August and occurs on Wednesdays at the Waves Sports Complex.
Juniors train in the afternoon from 4:00pm, while seniors train in the evening from 6:00pm.
Competition fixtures for the Waves Softball Club take place from October to March each year, with the sign-on period beginning in early August. The club boasts fully accredited coaches who are dedicated to junior development and preparing players for representative duties. Players have the opportunity to represent Hervey Bay at the Softball Queensland State Championships in various divisions, including U14, U16, U18, U23, and Open.
