Activ8

Activ8 is a sports club located in Adelaide, South Australia, specialising in sport aerobics. The club aims to promote self-esteem, fitness, and well-being among its members by providing personal and sporting challenges in a fun and supportive team environment.

The vision of Activ8 is to establish an environment of caring, confident, team-focused individuals, while also promoting individual health through focused fitness activity and competitive sport aerobics.

The club has a code of conduct in place that all athletes and coaches are expected to follow. This includes showing respect and showmanship towards each other and the sport, supporting and encouraging one another, and, most importantly, having fun.

Parents are also encouraged to play an active role in their child's participation. They are asked to support the club's code of conduct, encourage their child to participate to the best of their ability, and show respect and sportsmanship towards athletes, coaches, judges, and fellow parents. Any issues or concerns can be discussed with the team coach in a suitable manner.

The head coach and club director of Activ8 is Katie Cummings, who brings a wealth of experience to the role. She has been the head coach of Activ8 since 2008 and has led the team to 7 national titles. She is also the state coach for Gymnastics Australia Sportaerobics and has experience in judging the sport as well. With a background as a qualified primary school teacher and coaching experience at Highgate Primary School, Katie provides expert guidance and support to the club's athletes.

Activ8 holds tryouts every year for both primary and secondary school students interested in joining the club. These tryouts are a great opportunity for new faces to come and give sport aerobics a try. The club believes that sport aerobics is a fantastic way to keep fit and have fun.
