About

Suitable for all abilities and we encourage everyone to walk at their own pace. If you want to walk faster or slower than the group, feel free to do so. We have walk leaders who will ensure that everyone is accounted for and will wait for stragglers if necessary.

3. On average, we have about fifteen people attend our walks. It's a small and intimate group, perfect for making new friends and socialising.

4. The age range of our walkers varies from their twenties to sixties. We have a diverse group of individuals who come together to enjoy nature and the camaraderie of the group.

5. While our group is primarily for adults, we do welcome individuals under 18 years old as long as they are accompanied by a responsible adult. We value inclusivity and providing a safe and welcoming environment for all.

6. Our meeting location for the first Sunday of the month walks is at CIBO café, 199 Hutt Street, Adelaide. We gather at 9:30am and depart at 10:00am. For Saturday walks, we meet at the location specified in our programme page.

Car-pooling is encouraged for both walks.

7. To stay informed about upcoming walks, please check our programme page on our website and follow us on Facebook. We regularly update our information and provide details about each walk, including walk leaders and any specific requirements.

8. Our walks are graded as easy, medium, or hard. Easy walks are suitable for beginners or those who prefer a more relaxed pace. Medium walks require a moderate level of fitness and may involve some steeper sections.

Hard walks are more challenging and require a higher level of fitness and endurance.

9. It is free to join the Adelaide Happy Wanderers. We are a social group and do not charge membership fees. However, we do encourage walkers to support local businesses by purchasing items such as coffee or meals at our meeting location.

10. We meet on the first Sunday of every month, except for January and December. Our walks usually take 2–3 hours to complete, including breaks. Walkers can expect to be back in the city by around 1-2 pm.

11. When attending our walks, please bring suitable footwear and clothing for walking, a hat, sunscreen, water, and any necessary medication. It's also a good idea to bring a small daypack for carrying essentials.

12. Our group is open to everyone, including women and transgender individuals. We welcome diversity and strive to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all.

13. If you do not know anyone in the group or are hesitant to attend alone, don't worry! Our members are friendly and welcoming. It's a great opportunity to meet new people and make new friends.

We encourage you to step out of your comfort zone and join us for a walk.

14. Outside our monthly walks, we also organise a few mid-month Saturday afternoon walks, an annual camp, a winter solstice dinner, and a Christmas barbecue. These events provide additional opportunities for socialising and enjoying the great outdoors.

15. If your question has not been answered here, please feel free to contact us using the provided phone numbers or email address. We will be happy to answer any further inquiries you may have.

Join the Adelaide Happy Wanderers and experience the beauty of South Australia's nature while making new friends and enjoying a leisurely stroll. We look forward to welcoming you to our group!
