The Pine Rivers club is one of the longest-running clubs in the Bai Rui school. It has been operating in the Strathpine/Petrie area for over 20 years. The instructors of the club are Master Rob Taylor (7th Dan) and his wife Jan Taylor (6th Dan) who have been part of the Bai Rui school for even longer than the Pine Rivers club has been around. Students who attend the Pine Rivers club are afforded the unique opportunity to train under not one, but TWO of the highest ranking ITF Taekwon-Do seniors in the country.
Master Taylor & Jan Taylor were able to learn the art first-hand from Senior Master Charles Birch (Bai Rui Taekwon-Do Founder) in their many years of training as his students. They have both trained under First Grand Master Rhee and Senior Grand Master C.E. Sereff, who were the first two Grand Masters appointed by the founder of ITF Taekwon-Do, General Choi Hong Hi. Master Rob Taylor was also fortunate enough to attend a seminar conducted by the founder himself. The benefits of all of this experience are now passed on to their students in their club classes. Because of the experience and seniority of Master Taylor and Mrs Taylor, the Pine Rivers club has a large black belt contingent training within each class. Each black belt assists in the instruction of junior students at various times. This provides students more than the usual opportunity for feedback and instruction in small groups. The Pine Rivers club also runs a specific Special Needs class for students who require additional attention.
Taekwon-do is a martial art suitable for all ages and Bai Rui is a very family orientated school. The art has many great benefits such as improving fitness, balance, co-ordination, confidence, focus and attention as well as developing the discipline and respect that a martial art requires. Classes for this club are now running in the Pine Rivers Special School which has a great hall with easy access and parking. The whole family is welcome and the first two classes are free, so come along at any time to get started with this fantastic martial art.
