Bendigo Volleyball Association

The Bendigo Volleyball Association is a sports club located in Bendigo, Victoria. Established in 1964, the association has a long-standing history of organising and coordinating indoor volleyball competitions and trainings for all ages and skill levels.

The Bendigo Volleyball Association currently holds its matches at the Bendigo Stadium every Thursday night. The junior matches kick-off at 5 PM and 6 PM, followed by the senior matches at 7:05 PM and 8:25 PM. The association provides divisions for men, women, mini juniors, and mixed teams, ensuring that there is a suitable division for players of all ages and stages.

The association takes pride in its 60+ years of experience and its strong presence in the local volleyball community. Since 1994, it has been operating from the Bendigo Stadium, which has become its home. However, before that, the competition took place at the YMCA since its inception in 1964.

There are two seasons in a year, with Autumn season running from February to June and Spring season from July to November. Each season includes a home and away series, culminating in finals to determine the champions across all divisions. The competitions also have scheduled breaks during school holidays.

The Bendigo Volleyball Association encourages individuals of all skill levels to sign up and participate in their competitions. With divisions catering to different skill levels, beginners and experienced players alike can find a suitable place to play and improve their volleyball skills.

The association has a rich history, starting with its humble beginnings at the YMCA building on Mundy Street and Lyttelton Terrace. Over the years, it has expanded and developed, affiliating with the Victorian Amateur Volleyball Association (VAVA) and hosting various championship tournaments. In 1994, the association moved to the newly built West Bendigo Stadium, where it has flourished ever since.
