The choreography is age-appropriate and designed to teach the relationship between music and movement, rhythm, coordination, balance, and musical interpretation.

The club operates similarly to a local netball or soccer club, with trained Bjelke-Petersen teachers provided by the National organisation. Lessons are held in suburban clubs, and the cost is $75 per 10-week term, with an annual registration fee of $99. There are no expensive costumes or shoes required, making it an affordable sport for all.
