One of our highlight offerings is our trail ride tour. Starting at our ranch, you will have the opportunity to meet our horses and saddle up for an incredible ride. Our friendly and experienced staff will provide a briefing before you head out through the magnificent Kalbarri Country. Our guides will lead you through relaxing forest grounds and across the banks of the Murchison River.
Along the way, you will witness playful kangaroos, magnificent seasonal birdlife, a vast array of wildflowers, and the wonder of natural castle rock. To cool off, you can even take your horses through the crystal-clear river waters. Whether you are an experienced rider or a beginner, we have a range of horses and ponies to suit all skill levels.
After your ride, you can immerse yourself in our spectacular campgrounds or opt for our affordable farmstay accommodation. Our facilities include a swimming pool, campfire, fully equipped camp kitchen, and BBQ area, all overlooking the majestic Murchison River. You can also enjoy proximity to the beachfront, tours, and other activities. If you're looking for a morning adventure, we offer an early morning trail ride. It is an awesome experience where our expert guides lead you down to the river, cross to the other side, and ride through the dunes to reach the top. From there, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the ocean, river, and town. This ride is suitable for individuals aged 10 years and above, with a weight limit of 30 kg to 95 kg.
The ride takes place at 9 am and lasts for 2 hours, priced at $150 per rider.
For those who prefer an afternoon ride, our afternoon trail ride is a great option. You can explore the natural bushland and spot native animals as you follow the mighty Murchison River. You will even have the opportunity to have a swim with your horse. This ride is also suitable for individuals aged 10 years and above, with a weight limit of 30 kg to 95 kg.
The ride takes place at 3 pm and lasts for 1. 5 hours, priced at $125 per rider.
If you have young ones, they can also enjoy pony rides at Big River Ranch. We lead them around our property, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience. Pony rides are available from 9 am to 10 am, priced at $20 per lap.
Please note that we have a cancellation policy in place. There will be no refunds for cancellations made less than 48 hours in advance. For cancellations made over 48 hours in advance, a 50% refund will be provided.
For our trail rides, it is essential to abide by our weight limits. We cannot accommodate riders under 30 kg or over 95 kg. To ensure accuracy and avoid disappointment, we provide scales for clients to check their weight before the booked ride.
If you are interested in staying overnight, we offer farmstay accommodation that can sleep up to eight people. All linen is provided, and guests have access to shared bathroom and camp kitchen facilities. The cost per night is $40 per adult and $20 per child under 12. We also have a self-contained unit available, featuring two bedrooms, a private bathroom, and a small kitchenette.
The unit can accommodate up to six people and is priced at $50 per adult and $25 per child under 12.
