Bosco Hockey Club is part of Engadine’s St John Bosco Youth Centre, one of the largest youth sporting groups in Sydney catering for ten major sports.
Bosco Hockey Club draws its players primarily from the southern suburbs of Sutherland Shire and the northern suburbs of the Illawarra although, senior players come from many parts of Sydney.
Junior teams play in all grades of the Sydney South’s Hockey Association and players range in age from five to (over) fifty-five. Most games are played at Sylvania Hockey Park (turf) and Jenola Fields Caringbah (grass) of a Saturday and the season runs from April to September. Training takes place at Sylvania Hockey Park, Jenola and Dobell Road field at Engadine. Senior teams play in the Sydney East Hockey Association and the Moorebank competition.
All senior matches are on turf fields.
The club’s colours are royal blue and white.
Players of all ages and abilities are most welcome as the club has a team to fit pretty well everyone. Whilst the club is primarily a women’s sporting group, boys are able to play in our younger teams up to the age of twelve years.
Bosco Hockey is an amateur sporting body whose operation is made possible by a dedicated band of voluntary officials, coaches, and managers. We are a family oriented club where having a good time and making friends are paramount. This has been complimented by considerable success on the field and a corresponding high club spirit.
