
Brighton Seahawks Junior Football Club is a local sports club located in Brighton, Perth. With over 21 years of experience, the club specialises in teaching kids the skills of Australian Rules Football (AFL) through their Auskick and AFL programmes.
The club currently boasts over 450 members ranging in ages from 5 to 18 years old. In recognition of their success, they were honoured with the CHAMPION CLUB award in the West Perth District in both the 2012 and 2013 seasons.
The Auskick programme is designed for children aged 5 to 8 years old (Pre-Primary to Year 3) who are eager to learn the basics of AFL. Games are held on Sundays between 11:30am and 1pm.
For girls and boys aged 8 and above (Year 3+), the Modified AFL programme offers a more advanced level of play. Games take place at various local grounds against other local teams, with game times varying based on age groups. The programme focuses on modified rules to cater to the developmental needs of players.
The Opens division is open to girls and boys in Years 8 to 12. The home ground for the Open Rules teams is Kingsbridge Reserve in Butler and Leatherback Park in Alkimos.
Registrations for the 2023 season are now open for all grades of Junior AFL football. The club provides online registration options for Auskick (Pre-Primary to Year 2) as well as Modified and Open Rules (Year 3 to Year 12). It is important to register in the correct grade for each child.
Fees for the 2023 season vary depending on the grade. Auskick and Modified Rules fees are set at $196. 50, while Open Rules fees are $216. The fees cover various expenses such as Brighton Seahawks membership, player insurance, trophies or medallions, team photos, umpiring fees, line marking, and playing equipment.
