Burekup Cricket Club

Founded in the 2003/04 season, the Burekup Cricket Club is a sports club located in Bunbury, Western Australia. The club prides itself on being family-friendly and socially oriented, fostering a sense of community both on and off the cricket field. Over the years, Burekup has achieved significant success, winning 6 premierships while establishing a diverse mix of players, supporters, and local sponsors.

In the 2020/21 season, the club fielded 2 senior teams and 3 junior teams, showcasing their commitment to providing opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels. Additionally, Burekup is actively involved in the Woolworths' Blast Programme, an entry-level cricket programme designed to develop local talent and ensure the club's traditions are carried forward for generations to come.

A notable event in the club's history is the establishment of the Blue Stumps game day. This initiative was created in honour of a club member who tragically passed away in 2019, aiming to promote healthy conversations around mental health while maintaining the spirit of competition. The success of this event has led to 13 other clubs across Australia adopting a similar initiative.

Burekup Cricket Club also actively supports the Pink Stumps day, a fundraising event for the McGrath Foundation. By participating in Pink Stumps matches, the club contributes to the vital work done by the foundation in supporting families affected by breast cancer.

The club's executive team for the 2021/22 season consists of President Nathan King, Vice President Troy Frontino, Secretary Sam King, and Treasurer Kirsty Frontino. The team is supported by several ancillary committee members who contribute to the smooth functioning of the club.
