C4 has been training fighters of all ages and skill levels in BJJ and MMA since in Coffs Harbour on the mid-north coast of NSW since 2009.
BJJ promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using proper technique, leverage, and most notably, taking the fight to the ground, and then applying joint-locks and chokeholds to defeat the other person.
BJJ training can be used for sport grappling tournaments (gi and no-gi) and mixed martial arts (MMA) competition or self-defence. Sparring (commonly referred to as “rolling”) and live drilling play a major role in training, and a premium is placed on performance, especially in competition, in relation to progress and ascension through its ranking system.
Training BJJ is an excellent source of fitness for any age, fitness level and gender. All are welcome to train at C4. Kids classes and female only classes are on offer.
C4 is affiliated with Will-Machado Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Australasia. Will-Machado is Australasia's largest BJJ organisation and is run by John Will, one of Australia's very first 'offical' black belts and long-standing BJJ expert.
C4 BJJ and MMA is coached by some of the best trainers on the mid-north coast. From boxing to BJJ, all the coaches are seasoned competitors and have over 25 years experience between them. BJJ coach and C4 head coach, Chris Helback, is a Machado black belt under PUMMA QLD's Vincent Perry and is also an experienced MMA competitor.
