Welcome to Cairns Athletics, a family-oriented sports club located in Cairns, Queensland. We offer participation in the thrilling sport of track and field, aiming to provide athletes of all ages with the opportunity to grow and develop their skills. Our club is based at Barlow Park, which serves as our home base for training and competitions.
At Cairns Athletics, we are dedicated to organising well-structured club events and carnivals for our members. These events provide athletes with a platform to showcase their talents and compete against their peers. Additionally, our club offers qualified coaching access, allowing athletes to receive expert guidance and training to enhance their athletic abilities. We are also committed to providing opportunities for athlete and volunteer development, ensuring that everyone involved with our club can grow and thrive.
One of the highlights of Cairns Athletics is our club nights, which take place every Friday starting at 5:30 pm during most school terms. These club nights are open to athletes aged 4 years and above. Each age group participates in a rotation of 5 events throughout the night, taking a break for drinks and food after the 3rd event. Our age groups range from 4–6 years all the way up to 12+, ensuring that athletes of all ages can enjoy the sport and participate in a fun and supportive environment.
In addition to our club activities, Cairns Athletics also provides services to other clubs and schools throughout Cairns and the surrounding regional districts. We believe in fostering a sense of community and collaboration within the athletics community, supporting and assisting other organisations in promoting the sport of track and field.
