Campbelltown Harlequins Rugby Union is a prestigious sports club located in Sydney, Australia. Established in 1972 by a group of passionate rugby enthusiasts at the local pub “Lacks Hotel,” the club has a rich history and has competed in both Sydney and Illawarra competitions with varying levels of success.
As the club approaches its 50th-year milestone in 2022, they are planning a series of functions to celebrate this momentous occasion. Throughout their existence, the Harlequins have shown resilience and adaptability by moving between various competitions. They initially competed in Illawarra in their early years before transitioning to Sydney Subdistricts from 1977-1988. The club then returned to Illawarra in 1989 and became one of the leading clubs during the 90s.
In 2003, the Harlequins made another move, this time to Suburban Rugby. Despite facing changing circumstances and challenges, the club has consistently maintained a strong presence in all grades. In 2015, they made a strategic decision to return to the Illawarra region, where they continue to thrive.
The Harlequin Rugby Club will be holding their Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, 6th December 2022. The meeting will take place at the Clubhouse, situated at Campbelltown Showground on King Street, Campbelltown. All members, players, and supporters are encouraged to attend and actively contribute to the club's operations and success.
