Canberra North Bowling Club, located at 54 McCaughey St, Turner ACT 2612, is a sports club that has been serving the bowling community in Canberra for over sixty years. Established as a club in June 1958, Canberra North has continually improved its facilities over the years. The club currently offers three quality bowling greens and a clubhouse that provides amenities to cater to the diverse needs of its members and guests.
Canberra North Bowling Club warmly welcomes members from other bowling clubs and the wider community. Information on joining the club can be found under the Club Information section. In order to ensure the ongoing success of the club, Canberra North has recently merged with the RUC (the Turner Clubhouse). This collaboration has breathed new life into the Turner Clubhouse, with its operating hours now spanning from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm every day of the week.
Conveniently located in the heart of Canberra, the club offers ample free parking. It is an ideal destination for grabbing a bite to eat or enjoying a family-friendly dinner. The club also boasts a welcoming atmosphere for those looking to spend quality time with their loved ones.
The weekly bowls programme at Canberra North includes several sessions throughout the week. On Tuesday, there is the Jackpot Open Sectional Pairs, where participants can either nominate pairs or enter as individuals. Wednesday mornings offer the Mixed Social Bowls session, open for single entries starting at 10:00 am. Thursday is dedicated to Mixed Triples and Pairs, with options for nominations or single entries (on the third Thursday of the month, single entries only).
Friday sees the Mixed Social Bowls session, open for single entries at 10:00 am. Lastly, on Saturdays, there are the Mixed Pairs & Triples sessions, with options for nominations or single entries (on the last Saturday of the month, single entries only). During the summer months, all sessions begin at 10:00 am, while from 2 April to 1 October, the Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday sessions start at 10:30 am. Green fees for each session are $10, and participants are requested to email their names to cnbcbookings@gmail.
com by 8:00 am on the day of the session. Bowlers on Wednesdays and Fridays can either email or simply arrive by 9:30 am. Please note that there is no bowling on Mondays as it is designated as the green preparation and maintenance day. The dress code for all sessions is Mufti (plain clothes), except for Club championships and Pennants, for which the uniform must be worn.
