Churchill Amateur Basketball Association

The Churchill Amateur Basketball Association is a sports club located in Latrobe City, Australia. It is currently run by Basketball Victoria Country and organises senior domestic basketball competitions for players of all ages and abilities at Latrobe Leisure Churchill.

The club hosts both men's and women's competitions, which take place on Tuesday nights. The number of divisions in these competitions varies depending on the demand from participants, with typically 2 to 4 divisions being formed.

In addition to the domestic competitions, the Churchill Amateur Basketball Association is also home to the Churchill Blue Devils. The Blue Devils compete in the Country Basketball League Gippsland Conference and have had a successful history. In their first year back in the competition in 2011/2012, the Blue Devils won both the Men's and Women's premiership flags. They further showcased their skills by clinching the CBL championship titles in both categories during the 2013/14 season.

The Churchill Amateur Basketball Association is currently accepting team entries for their upcoming 2021 Winter Season, which is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, May 18th, 2021. The season will consist of 12 rounds followed by a finals series starting on Tuesday, August 24th. The association is also looking forward to the return of basketball after a break and has opened team entries for the 2021 Short Summer Season.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the association temporarily suspended games until further notice. However, once restrictions are lifted, players and enthusiasts can expect an exciting return to the court.

The association is always on the lookout for talented individuals to join their teams. Marco Tripodi, for example, was recently announced as the Head Coach for the Men's team for the 2017/2018 Country Basketball League Season. Tripodi has previously led the Blue Devil men's team to four consecutive championships.

Furthermore, the Churchill Amateur Basketball Association is actively seeking referees for their upcoming seasons to ensure fair and well-officiated games. Both experienced and aspiring referees are welcome to apply.
