CircusWA is a vibrant sports club located in Perth, Western Australia. As a circus training centre, they offer a range of programmes and activities for people of all ages and abilities. Located at the Freo Big Top in the east end of Fremantle, CircusWA is dedicated to supporting youth programmes for children living with disabilities, Aboriginal youth, and aspiring young artists.
CircusWA's mission is to create a connected, inclusive, and better world where youth from all backgrounds and abilities can come together to experience collaboration and creativity. They believe in the power of circus arts to stimulate authentic exchange of ideas and friendship, while also adding a unique and essential element to Western Australia's creative and cultural landscape. Through specialised programmes, CircusWA aims to extend accessibility to people of all abilities, empowering individuals and communities along the way.
The club offers a variety of training programmes that cater to different skill levels and interests. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced performer, CircusWA has something for everyone. From aerial skills, acrobatics, and juggling to clowning, physical theatre, and performance, participants have the opportunity to learn and develop their circus skills in a supportive and inclusive environment.
CircusWA also believes in the importance of community engagement and outreach. They actively collaborate with other organisations and cultural partners to promote the joy and energy of circus arts to a wider audience. By doing so, they aim to create a stronger and more connected community that values and appreciates the arts.
To support their mission and ensure the sustainability of their programmes, CircusWA relies on the generous support of the community. With government funding, ticket sales, and tuition fees being insufficient to cover the cost of expanding their programmes, they encourage individuals to get involved and make a difference. By donating or becoming a member, supporters can play a vital role in helping CircusWA continue their work and create bright futures for Western Australian youth.
For over 30 years, CircusWA has been at the forefront of celebrating, nurturing, and supporting distinctive artistic and cultural endeavours in the community. Since 2017, their training and development centre has found its home at the Freo Big Top, offering a unique and vibrant space for circus training and performances. Co-located with DADAA, a centre for arts and disability, CircusWA is proud to be part of a community that values inclusivity and diversity.
CircusWA operates from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. They can be contacted by phone at +61 435 374 492 or via email at discover@circuswa. Com. Their street address is 90 Adelaide Street, Fremantle, with a postal address at PO Box 674, Fremantle.
