Club 19 is a renowned sports club in Sydney, offering an exclusive opportunity for business people to enjoy playing golf at some of the best private golf courses in the area. Established in 1993 as an Association, Club 19 promotes friendship and camaraderie among its members while indulging in the amateur-level enjoyment of golf.
With a membership restricted to just 185 individuals, Club 19 ensures an intimate and personalised experience for each member. All members are required to have an affiliated AGU (Australian Golf Union) handicap, either through Club 19 or their home club. This ensures a level playing field and a mutual understanding of the game.
Golf days are typically held once a month on midweek days, providing members with a regular opportunity to practise their skills and enjoy the beautiful golf courses. The cost of each golf day, which includes green fees, a light lunch, and a three-course dinner or occasional barbecue with wine, averages around $180. Prizes are also distributed to the winners of the day during the presentation dinner/drinks, adding excitement to the day's events.
As a member of Club 19, you not only have the privilege of playing at prestigious golf courses like NSW, Concord, Monash, Terrey Hills, Manly, Avondale, and The Lakes but also the opportunity to entertain corporate clients by inviting them as guests.
Club 19 also organises three golf trips away each year, adding an element of adventure to the experience. Members have the chance to explore beautiful golfing destinations like the Gold Coast in April, the Mornington Peninsula in November, and even international trips in February or March. These trips provide a unique opportunity to bond with fellow members and create lasting memories.
The Club welcomes both male and female members, and its membership profile reflects a wide spectrum of competencies. While a knowledge of the game of golf and its rules and regulations is required, the club embraces individuals with varying levels of expertise and ensures a welcoming and inclusive environment for all.
Club 19 operates as a non-profit entity, with any surplus funds accumulated being returned to members through subsidising events or similar means. The committee, which meets every two months, takes care of organising activities, making necessary administrative decisions, and managing the Club's finances.
To become a member of Club 19, one must attend their first Club event and play in a foursome with one of the Committee members. Membership applications are considered at the next committee meeting. Unfortunately, due to the impact of Covid-19, new membership applications are currently suspended. Please stay tuned for updates on when applications will reopen.
