Our Club is actively involved in promoting the breed to both show fanciers and the public.
The Club also aims to raise the awareness of hereditary and genetic problems within the breed, and in the past has successfully held Eye Testing Days that have been well attended by our members.
The Club holds four shows each year. In 2015 there will be 2 Open Shows in February, an Open Show is where the judge officiating is in 'training' and it is our chance as a breed club to give the 'trainee' Judge a quality entry of the breed. Then in July there will be 2 Championship Shows.
The Cocker Spaniel Club of Queensland Inc is also a proud member of the National Cocker Spaniel Council of Australia since it was formed in 1985. National Cocker Spaniel Speciality Shows have been held since 1985 (the first being held in Melbourne) and we have proudly hosted the National Speciality in Queensland, with great success 3 times now. The first National in Queensland was held in 1994, then in 2000 and again in 2010. The next National will be hosted in 2016 by The Cocker Spaniel Society of NSW.
