Custom Companions is owned and run by qualified Geelong dog trainer and behaviour therapist, Deb Fratantaro.
For the past fourteen years Deb has been helping owners gain a better understanding of the dog world so that they can communicate more effectively with their pets. Most of the behavioural problems people experience with their dogs comes from lack of leadership. Deb educates the owners, teaching them how to be strong, consistent leaders in their pack, which in turn ensures a more desirable behaviour from their dogs.
Deb shares her home with two Akitas, named Sekani and Willow. The Akita is a Japanese breed, originally used for bear hunting. Deb spent many years showing her Akitas - and before that a Pharaoh Hound – before realising that her interests really lay with dog behaviour. She wanted to know what drove dogs to do the things they do, and how human interactions can affect that behaviour.
Through her training with a well known international in-home dog training company, Deb gained that understanding she sought, and can now use this knowledge and experience to help dog owners form a better relationship with their furry companions.
