About

The Dobermann Club of Queensland is a sports club located in Brisbane, Australia. Originally formed as the Doberman Association of QLD in 1965, the club was officially affiliated with the Canine Control Council (Qld) in 1971. The club's main objectives are to prevent any legislation or interference that may be of detriment to the Dobermann dog, promote the improvement of the breed, educate the public about the values and uses of Dobermann dogs, and promote good fellowship and sportsmanship among owners.

The club is governed by a formal constitution in line with guidelines set by Dogs Queensland and the Club. Office bearers are elected during the Annual General Meeting to manage the day-to-day affairs of the club. Monthly General Meetings are held where formal business is conducted. These meetings take place on the third Thursday of each month at the Durack Showgrounds in Durack, commencing at 7:00 pm.

The Annual General Meeting is held on the third Thursday in March each year.

Membership in the Dobermann Club requires members to uphold the objectives of the club and represent it as ethical members of the dog community. Members must meet certain conditions relating to temperament and health verification. All members are encouraged to actively participate in the club's activities and functions, whether it be part of the decision-making process or joining one of the subcommittees that govern the specialist functions of the club.

Individuals interested in joining the Dobermann Club of Queensland are invited to attend a club meeting as a guest. Club officials are more than willing to meet with those interested in the breed and address any questions they may have. The club's membership form is available in PDF format on their website.
