Douglas Park Athletics Club is a sports club located at Douglas Park Sports Ground in Wollondilly Shire Council, NSW, Australia. The club aims to provide athletic competition and training for athletes of all ages, ranging from 4 years old to 100 years old.
The club's competition takes place every Friday evening, with the season starting on September 16th, 2022, and ending on March 10th, 2023. Athletes are required to arrive by 5:15pm for equipment set up, and the competition begins at 5:30pm. There will be a break for the Christmas holidays from December 16th, 2022, to January 27th, 2023.
On Friday nights, athletes aged U6 to U17 gather in front of the baskets on the steps in front of the hall for important announcements. They are then taken to their respective events throughout the evening by their age managers. Tiny Tots, on the other hand, head to the southern end of the field to participate in modified running, jumping, and throwing activities specifically designed for their developmental stage.
It is significant for all children to wear the club's uniform with their registration numbers displayed. This ensures that their results can be recorded accurately. The club provides information on their website regarding the correct uniform and how to display the numbers correctly.
Registration for the 2022/23 season is done online, with fees ranging from $120 for Tots to $155 for U6 to U17 athletes. Payment for registration is done online as well. Proof of age must be shown for all new members.
The club also offers a range of uniforms for purchase, including singlets, crop tops, running shorts, tights, basketball shorts, and socks. These can be found on the Sports Magic website.
Parent participation is strongly encouraged at Douglas Park Athletics Club. Parents are expected to assist with the running of the competition and stay at the ground with their child/ren during the events. Parents can help with measuring throws or jumps, and their active participation contributes to the smooth operation of the club.
