Elizabeth Gymnastics Club Inc

Elizabeth Gymnastics Club Inc, located in Elizabeth Park, South Australia, is a sports club that has been serving the community for over 50 years. Established prior to 1961, the club initially operated out of St Peters College before moving to the YMCA hall. In 1977, the Girls gymnastics programme was introduced, and the club began using the newly built Elizabeth Recreation Centre. However, in 1996, the club acquired its own facility, known as The Fremont Regional Gymnastics Centre.

Elizabeth Gymnastics Club caters to a variety of disciplines, including Recreational Gymnastics, Competitive Gymnastics, Cheerleading, and Dance. With its state-of-the-art facilities, the club provides a conducive environment for athletes of all skill levels to develop their fitness, strength, endurance, courage, balance, flexibility, speed, and power.

The club is proud to have over 150 families from the northern districts of Adelaide actively utilising their facilities. It is run entirely by dedicated volunteers, including coaches, committee members, and parents, who aim to instil the love and knowledge of gymnastics in the hearts of the youth in the northern suburbs. Some volunteers spend over 30 hours a week at the gym and contribute additional time behind the scenes to ensure the smooth operation of the club.

As a non-profit organisation, Elizabeth Gymnastics Club utilises all its revenue to cover facility overheads, invest in new equipment, and maintain existing resources. The club's commitment to excellence was recognised in 1996 when it was awarded “Club of the Year” by the State Gymnastics Association, a remarkable achievement considering there are over 120 clubs within the state.

Elizabeth Gymnastics Club is an incorporated association and is affiliated with Gymnastics and Kindergym Association of South Australia. This affiliation also extends to the Australian Gymnastics Federation, which, in turn, is affiliated with the Federation of International Gymnastics. This ensures that members of the club have access to high-quality programmes and opportunities to compete at national and international levels.
