Whether you're just starting out or have years of experience, there is a place for everyone at Emu Park SLSC. Memberships include access to training and courses, as well as the opportunity to join in on patrol duties.
Speaking of patrols, Emu Park Main Beach is patrolled on Saturday afternoons and Sundays from mid-September through to Labour Day. During the peak summer season, patrols are all day on Saturdays from November to February. To ensure the safety of beachgoers, a lifeguard is on duty during the September, Christmas, and Easter school holidays.
Emu Park SLSC isn't just about lifesaving, it's also about developing the next generation of surf enthusiasts through their Nippers programme. Designed for children aged 5 to 14, Nippers at Emu Park SLSC is a fun and educational way for kids to learn about surf safety and develop their skills in the water. With dedicated age managers and a well-structured season plan, every Nipper is supported to reach their full potential.
While safety is a top priority at Emu Park SLSC, the club also encourages members to participate in surf sports competitions. From surf boat rowing, swimming, board and ski paddling, ironman/woman, to beach sprints and flags, there's a range of options for members to get involved and challenge themselves. Senior lifesavers, starting from age 15 with no upper limit, can compete and showcase their skills in these exciting events.
In addition to promoting surf lifesaving and fostering a love for the ocean, Emu Park SLSC values community support. The club is grateful for the generous sponsorship provided by local businesses, who play a vital role in helping the club continue its important work. Emu Park SLSC also values open communication and invites any inquiries through their contact form, which can be found on their official website or social media platforms.
