F. U. N. Yoga (Finding Unity Now) is a vibrant sports club located in Port Macquarie-Hastings Council.
Founded by Jenny Eggert, an experienced yoga teacher, F. U. N. Yoga aims to unite the community through health awareness, family and community support, and the spiritual practise of yoga.
Jenny's journey with yoga began when she settled in Wauchope after marrying her husband, Paul. Her first yoga experience, donning a pink leotard and fishnet stockings on a foam mat at the CWA hall, ignited a lifelong passion for yoga. She started teaching yoga classes in Wauchope when the previous teacher was unable to continue, and amidst raising three children and helping on the family farm, yoga became an integral part of her life.
In the early 70s, opportunities for yoga teacher training were limited. Jenny relied on B. K. S.
Iyengar's “Light on Yoga” as her main resource and subscribed to the IYTA International Light and the Satyananda Ashram Integral Yoga monthly lessons. Her mentor, Dr. Kamala Mata from the Diamond School of Yoga, introduced her to a correspondence teacher training course that allowed her to deepen her own practise and share her passion for yoga with others.
At the age of 60, Jenny felt it was time to enhance her teaching skills and enrolled in a two-month training course with the Byron Yoga Centre, where she obtained a Certificate IV in Yoga Teaching. Immersing herself in yoga from 6 am to 9 pm every day allowed her to delve deeper into the benefits of yoga and further her understanding of its practises.
Upon her return from Byron Bay, Jenny and Paul built a Yoga Studio on their organic family farm, leading to the establishment of F. U. N. Yoga.
Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, the studio caters to people of all ages and offers a diverse range of classes, including children's yoga, senior yoga, mom and baby yoga, meditation, Hatha yoga, and Dru Yoga. Additionally, the studio hosts popular yoga workshops for those seeking more specialised training.
Jenny and Paul's dedication to their practise has led them to attend regular international yoga retreats. Their commitment is evident in the blog section of the F. U. N.
Yoga website, where Jenny shares her latest retreat experiences, such as her trip to Italy.
F. U. N. Yoga is located at 21 Redbank Road, Wauchope, NSW 2446.
