The Frankston AUSSI Swimming Club, now known as Frankston Masters Swimming, was established in 1981 after a public meeting at Frankston Teachers College. The club's original members included individuals who were passionate about swimming and wanted to form an AUSSI club in Frankston. The club's first President was Brian Marshall, who had prior experience with an AUSSI club in Sydney.
The base for Frankston Masters Swimming is the Frankston High School Swimming pool, which offers a 25m indoor pool in the southern Frankston area. The club initially started with 15 members and has since grown to approximately 60 members, maintaining a relatively constant membership throughout the years. The club was incorporated in 1987, solidifying its status as an official organisation.
Frankston Masters Swimming has a rich history of participation in interclub meets and competitions. They held their first Inter Club Meet in June 1983, featuring various swimming events such as 200m freestyle, 100m butterfly, 50m backstroke, and 25m breaststroke. This event was well-received and has since become an annual tradition for the club. The club has also actively participated in competitions at local, state, and national levels.
