The origins of Fremantle United Soccer Club date back to 1977. At a meeting between one of the Club's founders, Alastair Mackay, and local Council members, it was agreed to establish a soccer club to represent Fremantle. In 1978, Council land was made available for soccer pitches on Carrington Street, Beaconsfield. In 1979, with a small group of junior players and small committee, Fremantle United was born.
