Geelong Swimming Club

Geelong Swimming Club is a sports club located in Geelong, Victoria. The club caters to swimmers of all ages and abilities, providing a range of programmes from learn to swim all the way up to National and International competition.

In recognition of their commitment to inclusion and strengthening disability sport, Geelong Swimming Club was honoured with three awards at the Victorian Disability Sport and Recreation Awards in 2020. Swimmer Phoebe Mitchell was named Female Sportsperson of the Year, Sadat Hussain received the Coach of the Year award, and the Club itself was awarded Team of the Year.

Geelong Swimming Club has also received significant recognition from Swimming Victoria, being named Club of the Year for the 2020/2021 season. This prestigious award acknowledges the club's dedication to swimming and their outstanding achievements both in and out of the pool.

Geelong Swimming Club has also bid farewell to Sadat Hussain, an iconic figure in the swimming fraternity and a vital part of the club. They have celebrated the retirement of elite athlete Phoebe Mitchell, who holds a world record and has been a valued member of the club for 20 years.

One of the club's most notable achievements is winning the Victoria Country Champions title for two consecutive years. They have also been represented by their athletes at the Special Olympics Australia National Games and the Virtus Oceania Asia Games, further highlighting their commitment to excellence in swimming.
