Grand Master Leongs Academy

Grand Master Leong's Academy is a sports club located in the heart of Adelaide CBD on Hindley Street. Established in 1974, Grand Master Leong has been personally instructing since its inception and offers over 37 years of experience in Wing Chun Kung Fu. With 50 years of involvement in Martial Arts, Grand Master Leong has developed incredible knowledge, which he now imparts to his students.

The Academy offers ample training space, newly remodelled and renovated after the Hindley Street fire. It features a Muay Thai Boxing Ring, heavy bags, wooden dummies, and an excellent selection of weaponry. Students have the opportunity to train in three styles of Wing Chun, Muay Thai, a range of Wu Shu forms, numerous weapon forms, as well as Tai Chi and Chi Kung. As a result, the Academy provides a comprehensive Martial Arts training experience.

One of the Academy's standout features is the privilege of hosting some of the world's best Martial Arts Masters. These include Yip Chun, the son of Yip Man who taught Bruce Lee, Grandmaster Yuttana, a national Muay Thai coach in Bangkok Thailand, Master Li Jun Feng, who coached the Beijing Wu Shu Team when Jet Li trained there, and a Chen style Tai Chi Grandmaster.

Grand Master Leong's Academy extends a warm welcome to students from interstate and overseas who wish to train at one of the top Wing Chun, Muay Thai, and Wu Shu academies outside of China and Thailand.

Grandmaster Felix (Cheok Son) Leong, the founder of the Academy, has an impressive lineage in Wing Chun Kung Fu. Born in Guangdong province, China, to a Martial Arts family, he was influenced from an early age, particularly by his highly skilled martial artist grandmother. Grandmaster Leong studied Wing Chun under several respected Masters, including Yip Chun, a family disciple of Ip Man, Sum Nung, Lei Chi Wah, and Pan Nam. He is also a Permanent President of the Ip Man Wing Chun Association governing the Australasian region.

With exceptional ability in Martial Arts, Grandmaster Leong has won many full contact tournaments inside and outside of China.

The Academy also offers traditional acupuncture treatments, with Grandmaster Leong being fully qualified in traditional Chinese medicine. With 35 years of experience, he regularly treats people in the club and is available for private treatments.

Classes at Grand Master Leong's Academy are held from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Mondays, providing flexibility for students to find a suitable training time.
