What sailing activities do you offer?

We offer sailing for yacht and dinghy sailors, including yacht racing information and Laser and Sunday sailing. We also run GFS Women and organise twilight duty rosters.

Where do you meet and when do events take place?

Our annual prize presentation is at the GFS clubhouse on Saturday June 06, commencing at 3.00pm. We also hold events such as drinks and nibbles at 7pm for rope skills practical on June 10.

Greenwich Flying Squadron | Sailing in Sydney

All race entries on the day have a chance to win the coveted Centenary Cup.

After the race, participants are invited to the Royal Prince Edward Yacht Club for a delicious BBQ and prize-giving ceremony.

In addition to the Centenary Cup, Greenwich Flying Squadron also offers a Laser programme for the 2023-2024 season. This programme provides laser sailors with a comprehensive schedule of events and races, allowing them to hone their skills and compete in a supportive and competitive environment. To support safe sailing practises and raise awareness about racing rules, Greenwich Flying Squadron organises a Rules Night. Led by Olympic judge Mark Pryke, this special occasion provides sailors with valuable insights into racing rules and guidelines, with a specific emphasis on common protest scenarios. This event is held at the GFS Clubhouse and serves as a platform for sailors to refine their knowledge of safe sailing practises.

Greenwich Flying Squadron also participates in various regattas and events outside their club. One notable event is the Balmain Regatta, held on Sunday, October 29. This regatta attracts a diverse range of participants, including classic yachts, modern workboats, and even a replica of the original Britannia. After the race, participants can enjoy the famous party on the deck at the club, featuring live music, food, and beverages.
