Hunters Hill Sailing Club

Hunters Hill Sailing Club, located in Sydney, is a volunteer-run, family-oriented sports club that has been providing sailing opportunities since 1961. Originally known as the Hunters Hill Junior Sailing Club, the club focuses on introducing people of all ages, especially children, to the sport of sailing. They aim to create a safe and supportive environment for teenagers, providing excellent coaching and infrastructure to help them develop their skills and build strong friendships.

The club is situated at Woolwich, having moved from its previous location at Onions Point in 1971. Over the years, Hunters Hill Sailing Club has achieved impressive results in racing, both at the state and national level, across a variety of dinghy and sailboard classes. Many club sailors have developed a lifelong passion for the sport through their involvement.

In recent years, the club has implemented a vibrant year-round sailing schedule. This includes the popular “Pleasant Sunday Morning” winter race series, the exciting “Asymmetric Weekend” held annually in August, and regular Sunday racing for both junior and senior classes. The club's programme also focuses on their teens and tweens, providing them with a space to grow as individuals, offering challenges, coaching, and support, and encouraging them to form strong friendships within the club.

Hunters Hill Sailing Club welcomes new sailors into their Learn2Sail, junior, and youth programmes, as well as those returning to the sport who are in search of a friendly and inclusive club for their whole family. The HHSC Sailing Committee plays a key role in organising the programme and answering any questions or concerns that parents or guardians may have.

The club also recognises the traditional custodians of the land, the Aboriginal, and Torres Strait Islander people, and honours and respects their cultural heritage.
