Based at Picken Oval in Croydon Park, the Inner West Magpies AFL Club is the premier AFL club in the Inner West of Sydney. We have a long and proud history, with success in both men's and women's teams competing at the highest level. Our club prides itself on providing a professional and inclusive environment for all players.
As a member of the Inner West Magpies, players have access to top-notch facilities, including two dedicated AFL grounds, a gym, and a licenced club. We also provide our teams with professional coaching, physiotherapy services, and strength and conditioning programmes to ensure they perform at their best.

The Inner West Magpies AFL Club has a rich and storied history. Originally formed in 1929, the club participated in the NSWANFL competition until 1962 when it disbanded due to financial difficulties. However, the club was reformed in 1947 and experienced success in the 1950s, reaching multiple grand finals.
During the 1960s and 1970s, the Inner West Magpies became the dominant force in Sydney AFL. They were a constant presence in the grand finals, winning four premierships and narrowly missing out on a few more. While the club's fortunes declined in the following years, they managed to secure a topship in 1996.
Inner West Magpies AFL Club is always looking for new players or individuals who simply want to be involved in the club. Whether you are a seasoned AFL player or a beginner looking to try out the sport, we welcome you to join us. We also encourage volunteers to contribute their skills and time to various activities within the club, be it on the committee or on match days.
To become a registered player, individuals must register on Play HQ and pay a registration fee. The fee ensures players are insured and covers expenses such as playing apparel, footballs, ground hire, and umpires. Full payment upfront is $500, while U19 and full-time students can pay a reduced fee of $300. Additionally, a deposit of $250 is accepted, with the balance to be paid later.
It is important to register before round 1 to avoid a higher fee of $600.
