Located at the junction of the Bruce and Isis Highways, the township of Childers lies 325 km (202 miles) north of Brisbane and 52 km (32 miles) south-west of Bundaberg.

Designated 10 / 28, a single 1000m grass strip provides ample take-off and landing real estate for light aircraft while a total of 14 hangars (and a clubhouse) provide shelter and security for the pride-n-joy of local operators. Additionally, it is reported that space has been reserved for the construction of additional hangars if required.
