The Italo-Australian Cycling Club (Italo CC) is a community-based cycling club located in South Gippsland Shire, Melbourne's inner north. The club aims to foster a culture of cycling excellence among competitive and social riders across various disciplines, including road, track, gravel, and e-sport (Zwift).
One of the highlights of Italo CC is its weekly bunch rides, which start from the corner of Michael Street and Queens Parade in Fitzroy North. These rides are suitable for experienced bunch riders, primarily Masters, and cover a variety of routes ranging from 60kms to 80kms with 600–1000 metres of climbing. The average speed for these rides is usually around 25-28kph.
While the club encourages riders to stick together as a group, they understand that some riders may prefer different paces and levels of intensity. Therefore, the group rides are not “no-drop” rides, and all riders are expected to be self-sufficient with food, drink, the ability to repair a flat tyre, and find their own way back home.
Italo CC also offers coaching services for riders who are looking to improve their skills and compete at higher levels. These coaching sessions provide riders with the guidance and support they need to reach their cycling goals.
In addition to the regular rides and coaching services, Italo CC organises various upcoming rides and events, including the Charles Sturt Drive, Airport ride, and Broadgully Hurstbridge ride. These rides provide members with opportunities to explore different routes and challenge themselves in a supportive and inclusive environment.
