Kangaroo Rugby League Club formed in the western suburbs of Cairns in 1931. Our home ground and leagues club are at Vico Oval on Irene Street in Mooroobool.
Foundation members of the Cairns and District Rugby League (CDRL) Kangaroos have won numerous premierships over the years and still have more than ten teams fiercely competing in local junior and senior fixtures today.
In 2013 Kangaroos were club champions and season leadings. Other significant club highlights include winning the senior topship in our inaugural season of 1931 and winning the same leadingship again in 1956, this time undefeated.
An original 1931 jersey is on display in our clubhouse along with pictures of the 1931, 1956 and 2013 teams.
Our youngest team is our under 6′s, and we have three senior teams in the CDRL competition – “A” Grade, Reserve Grade and Under 18′s.
