Founders and the current chairman and chief instructor of Kempo Ryu International Karate Organisation – Earlwood. The sports club is based in Sydney, Australia and is known as Australia's leading Kempo group. While all their Dojo (training centres) are located in Sydney, they have a broad-base support across the city and are very active in the Australian Karate community.
Kempo Ryu International Karate Organisation – Earlwood specialises in a Japanese Kempo style, distinguishing itself from other styles such as American Kenpo or western freestyle based Kempo. Their goal is to maintain the traditions and cultures of Japanese Karate in their teaching and Dojo culture. They take the title of the most effective self-defence style, attributed to Kempo worldwide, seriously. In order to maintain this honour, they emphasise the importance of hard and smart training.
As the parent art of Karate, Kempo holds a great honour for the organisation. They are dedicated to maintaining a regime of sincere Budo style (Warrior style) discipline throughout their Dojo network. Kempo Genbu Ryu has been highly effective in Kickboxing and proudly teaches “Soeno Kickboxing,” named after Japan's greatest Kickboxing and Karate Champion, Sosui “Yoshiji Soeno. ” Soeno is Kancho Peter Mylonas' mentor, teacher, and 'big brother' of Budo/Karate.
Soeno is known as the Tiger of Kyokushin and is the founder of Shidokan, The World Karate Association.
Additionally, Kempo Genbu Ryu incorporates Brazilian Jiu Jitsu into its Grappling programme, which includes hand and body locks. They teach both ground and stand-up combat with grappling techniques. This Grappling programme is called Kempo Genbu Ryu Broz Grappling, led by grappling master “Fabricio Mendoca.
