About

The Kiama Senior Knights and Kiama Junior Knights Rugby League Football Clubs are based in Kiama, NSW. The Senior Knights were formed in 1914 as one of the founding members of Group 7 Rugby League, and the two Clubs continue to participate in the Group's local competition. The Knights are family-friendly clubs, providing opportunities for boys and girls, men and women to play rugby league or ladies league tag.

The Kiama Knights Junior Rugby League Club was formed in 1955 and was known as the Red Devils. In the mid-1990s, the Club adopted the Knights logo of our senior club and both Clubs agreed to wear red, black, and white. In 2015, the Club introduced league tag for girls aged 12, 14, and 16. Today, the Club is the largest club in Group 7 and the Illawarra competitions, with over 485 players across all age groups.

The club has an emphasis on getting children to participate, learn new skills, work as a team, exercise, and have fun! The Kiama Leagues Club is the major sponsor, providing new playing jumpers and support in forming an ongoing partnership. In recent years, a number of local businesses have also become sponsors of the Club.

In 2024, the Club aims to field teams in Junior Rugby League, Girls Rugby League, and Girls League Tag for various age groups. Registrations are now open on the Play Rugby League website, and Active Kids Rebate can also be used at the time of registering.

The Club committee consists of President Carl Middleton, Vice President Lachlan Payne, Secretary Kristie Laird, Treasurer Steve Emmett, Registrar Cass Timms, Gear Steward John Mak, Sponsorship Manager Shelley McCarthy, and various members responsible for fundraising, publicity, canteen supervision, merchandise coordination, groundskeeping, and team management.

The Club also has a list of life members who have made significant contributions over the years, including Marj Bullman, Brian Filmer, Ray Piper, Len Bentley, Cheryl Arndell, Heather Beardwell, Michael Tierney, Michael Ashmore, Ian Killmore, Michael Miller, Steve Timms, Ralph Muttdon, Sue Muttdon, and more.

The Kiama Knights RLFC is passionate about rugby league and providing a safe and supportive environment for players of all ages and abilities.
