Kyneton Aero Club

Kyneton Aero Club, located in the Macedon Ranges Shire, is a renowned sports club that caters to aviation enthusiasts in the Australian aviation community. Established in 1966, the club has a rich history of promoting and supporting aviation activities in the region.

In 2017, Kyneton Aero Club was awarded the prestigious title of Aero Club of the Year by the Australian Division of the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) and Australian Flying. This recognition highlights the club's dedication and commitment to excellence in all aspects of aviation.

One of the signature events hosted by the Kyneton Aero Club is the “Gourmet Hot Dog” Fly-In, held on the first Saturday of each month (excluding June, July, and August). From 12 pm to 1 pm, club members come together to sell delicious gourmet hot dogs, cake, and drinks, creating a welcoming and social atmosphere for aviators, enthusiasts, and friends. The proceeds from this event are proudly donated to the RMH Neuroscience Foundation, emphasising the club's commitment to community engagement and support.

To ensure smooth operations and adherence to safety regulations, all pilots intending to fly into Kyneton Airfield (YKTN) are required to register for Landing Permission. By doing so, pilots acknowledge their awareness of and agreement to comply with the Operational Requirements outlined in the ERSA (En Route Supplement Australia) and the specific “YKTN Airfield Information” tab.
