Lane Cove River Kayakers

Lane Cove River Kayakers is a racing and fitness paddling club located in Lane Cove North, Sydney. The club meets every Wednesday evening throughout the year and embarks on a time trial on the serene Lane Cove River. Participants can choose from three different distances: 12 km, 9 km, or 6 km.

With over 130 members, Lane Cove River Kayakers has a diverse range of individuals spanning various ages. The club has gained a reputation for being a relaxed and friendly community, always supporting and encouraging one another. While the members are competitive on the water, they prioritise camaraderie and teamwork.

Lane Cove River Kayakers has earned recognition as one of the most active marathon paddling clubs in New South Wales. The club has a high level of participation in events such as the Hawkesbury Canoe Classic, where they consistently field one of the strongest teams. They also partake in other prestigious races including the State Marathon Series, Riverland Paddling Marathon (SA), Murray Marathon, and Myall Classic.

The club has achieved numerous accomplishments over the years, frequently winning the Hawkesbury Canoe Classic's Commonwealth Bank Cup and setting various class records. Members of Lane Cove River Kayakers also engage in harbour racing, sprint events, and international endurance races like the Yukon River Quest in Canada and the Fish River Marathon in South Africa. They also participate in multi-sport and adventure races.

In addition to the weekly time trials, Lane Cove River Kayakers organises group training sessions and ensures the safety of its members during all activities. The club also provides resources such as club boats and boat hire, articles on kayaking tips and experiences, and a photo/video gallery of their adventures.
