The Latrobe Valley Aero Club also offers training for those interested in pursuing a career as a pilot. This includes obtaining a Private Pilots Licence (PPL) and a Commercial Pilots Licence (CPL). The PPL training focuses on navigation skills and communication with air traffic control towers. After completing the PPL, pilots can fly anywhere in Australia with family and friends.

The CPL training includes hour building and advanced navigation lessons, with a minimum requirement of 200 hours of flying time.

For those interested in recreational aviation, the club offers training in Recreation Aviation Australia (RAAus) registered aircraft. These aircraft are two-seat recreational planes with a maximum weight of 600 kgs. The training is conducted in accordance with the RAAus Operations Manual and Flight Syllabus. The minimum requirement for a pilot certificate in recreational aviation is 20 hours of flying time, with most students completing the certification in 25–30 hours.
