Mulgoa Valley Physie (MVP) is a sports club located in the Penrith City Council area that offers Physical Culture (Physie) classes for girls and women of all ages. Whether you have grown up performing or are new to Physie, MVP provides a welcoming and supportive environment where you can be yourself, build confidence, and make lifelong friends.
At MVP, they believe that being part of a Physie family encourages a love for exercise, improves health benefits, boosts confidence, and promotes overall happiness. Regardless of your fitness level or experience, Physie is a sport that you can start at any age or ability.
The club is a not-for-profit organisation and is proudly affiliated with The Edith Parsons School of Physical Culture. They also extend their gratitude to Promotional Products Australia for their fantastic promotional gear.
In addition to regular classes, Mulgoa Valley Physie also organises special events, such as the 2023 Interclub competition. This event brings together participants from various clubs, including Bangor, Baulkham Hills, Collaroy Plateau, Eastlakes, Fairfield City, Lawson Springwood, Lithgow, Moorebank St Thomas, Southern Highlands, and The Heights. To participate in this event, all competitors must be current registered members of EP Physie.
The proposed programme for the Interclub includes different age groups, such as EP Petites, Open Seniors, Extended Ladies, Intermediate Seniors, and more. There will also be a lunch break during the programme, and the final programme may undergo small changes.
The competition will take place at St Paul's Grammar School in Cranebrook, and there will be an entry fee for competitors and spectators. The event will also be live-streamed, allowing those who cannot attend in person to watch each heat from the back.
On the day of the competition, if the performance floor is deemed too slippery, the wearing of ballets will become optional, and a decision will be made in consultation with all teachers present. There will also be food options available, including a BBQ, coffee van, and canteen.
Parking is available at the school, with three small car parking areas and plenty of street parking. The distance from parking to the hall ranges from 3–10 minutes.
For those who are new to Physie, it is an inspiring dance sport that combines dance and fitness. It incorporates movements from ballet, contemporary dance, yoga, and pilates, resulting in professionally choreographed dance routines that increase core strength, coordination, fitness, and flexibility. EP Physie girls exhibit strength, poise, and elegance simultaneously.
