Welcome to the Mackay Bushwalkers Club Inc. , a recreational sports club dedicated to bushwalking in the Mackay region. With a rich heritage of exploring the natural world, bushwalking is an incredible way to unwind, stay active, and connect with like-minded individuals.

Since 1974, the Mackay Bushwalkers' Club Inc has been fostering the love for bushwalking as a recreational activity. We believe in the spirit of Australia and the need to preserve and appreciate the diverse landscapes that surround us. The Mackay region, in particular, offers a range of unique areas for bushwalking, including the expansive wilderness of Eungella National Park.

To stay connected with our members, the club holds monthly general meetings on the third Wednesday of each month. These meetings, usually held at the Mackay Family Care and Community Support Association Centre, provide an opportunity for members to come together, discuss upcoming walks, and share their experiences. Interested individuals are always welcome to attend these meetings.

As part of our commitment to keeping our members informed, the club circulates a monthly newsletter. This newsletter serves as a valuable resource, providing descriptions of upcoming walks, information on the difficulty and terrain of each walk, and important updates. We encourage all members to stay updated by reading the newsletter regularly.

For those interested in joining the Mackay Bushwalkers' Club Inc, we have a simple application process in place. To participate in any walk organised by the club, you must be a current financial member. To ensure new members are prepared for their first outing, we require them to attend a brief induction session. Led by experienced club members, this session includes a short video showcasing the type of terrain encountered during walks.

Induction sessions typically coincide with our general meetings and are held on the third Wednesday of each month.

To join the club, please complete a membership form and child risk waiver (if applicable) and attend an induction session. We also recommend thoroughly reading our member's handbook, which contains important information on club rules and safety.

In addition to club activities, we also manage a private Facebook Group exclusively for past and present members. Access to this group is granted once we have received your completed membership application form and fees.
