Sensei, and Yamada Sensei. In 2001, joined Makotokan Budo and continued training under the guidance of Colin Hackett Sensei. Obtained the grade of Sandan in Aikido from Hackett Sensei in November 2006. Currently holds the rank of Sandan Aikikai.
Began training in Aikido in 2011 at Makotokan Budo under the instruction of William Haynes Sensei. Showing great commitment and dedication to the art, he obtained the rank of 1st Dan Aikikai in April 2017. Continues to train and assist in teaching Aikido at Makotokan Budo, sharing his passion for the art with others.
Makotokan Budo offers a range of training times to accommodate different schedules. Aikido classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM and Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Tenjin Shinyo-Ryu Jujutsu classes take place on Mondays from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM and Wednesdays from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM. Additional weapon training sessions are conducted every 2nd Wednesday of the month.
As a non-political and non-sectarian organisation, Makotokan Budo welcomes individuals of all backgrounds and experience levels who share a passion for martial arts. The dojo provides a safe and friendly environment for controlled and disciplined training, fostering personal development and promoting harmony.
Makotokan Budo is directly affiliated with the Australasian Aikikai, under the direction of Colin Hackett Sensei. Gradings at Makotokan are recognised by the United Kingdom Aikikai and the Aikikai Hombu Dojo. The dojo also offers training in Tenjin Shinyo-Ryu Jujutsu, a traditional Japanese martial art form with elements that strongly influence Judo and Aikido.
